[NEW] Useful links for new users

Recommended Posts

Since the [OLD] topic was crippled by the user who started it in the first place this is the new Usefull links topic.

Thanks go to Jeep94 for editing the links.

Some links have unfortunately gone missing due to some editing done by the original authors of these links. We'll try and weed them out.

If you have usefull info to add send me or one of the other moderators a pm.

Try clicking any of the links.. it either goes to the oovee forum or Jimmy Hendrix starts playing a tune.

Eventually i will be cleaning up this topic as well.. keeping it a bit ontopic. Thanks for understanding.

you know how they say nothing is ever really gone when you post it on the internet... this is what they where talking about

http://web.archive.org/web/20150617015736/http://www.oovee.co.uk/forum/topic/10652-useful-links-for-new-users/

not all the links will work, but I think you'll be able to recover the proper urls for the links even for the ones that don't work. to recover the link click it and copy from the second http:// to the end of the url (or the whole url in the search box if its not archived(if the link dosent work)) in the event that the original content was deleted (what the link sends you to) copy the whole url

you can even see tattoos and freemans deleted posts... and probably download anything they uploaded.

3 On the Advanced Parameters rollout, turn off Always Deform.

4 Apply any necessary transforms to the mesh/patch object or bones objects.

5 Turn Always Deform back on.

Is there a sample mod to scale up against so we know what size the vehicle should be in regards to the meshes, as in body, cabin wheels etc? Thanks in advance

Scale to real life size bud in blender you can change units to feet and inches then just find the size of the actual truck, car your making and scale to size.

Hey guys, new to the forum and Spintires. I actually dropped of my computer before purchase of the game to clean it up and do some updates. I am fresh as hell to the computer gaming community so bare with me. I have dl'd and played the crap out of the demo and love it.

To the point. I am trying to understand how to use a mod file found here in the forum. Not sure how all this works. Everytime I search the forum, its showing how to write a mod, not the very basic walk through that I need just to use the mods.

Also, I can use my xbox controller but have to get the wire adapter to usb?

I am running this game on an acer laptop not a 2k gamer laptop mind you.

I am aware i need to spend time playing the game before worring about mods but I would really love to understand it as I wont be long before I will be using it.

LOVE some of teh trucks people have built.

Well, you're here at an inconvenient moment; the structure of mods has changed and not everything has been updated yet.

You can find updated mods in this section of the download manager.

For a how to install, there's literally thousands of those videos on youtube (same installation method still applies). Be warned to not drown in them please!

For workshop mods, you can simply browse the steam workshop, subscribe to mods you like, then check the download section of Steam to see if everything has downloaded and then you can play with them.

a mega.nl link to the pdf moding guide in the new truck editor

Again, I advice against reuploading files that already are easily available (either from the editor itself or from the official link).
