Add-on tail lights help

Recommended Posts

I have a truck bed add-on that I want to add tail lights to. Can anyone help me with the proper xml set up?

Does the addon have light textures that just don't work? Or do you need to add light textures to the addon?

If it already has the textures, then I think I can help.

Thanks dude but this wont work. That light is only activated while using the crane. I need them to work as soon as you attach the add-on.

Oh yeah, I didn't think about that. Did you look at the add-on light for the kraz, I think it is? or is it the ural or both? I don't use em so I forgot which truck it's from.

EDIT: It is the kraz. This file - kraz_cabin_red_lights.xml

HI! I have another question about lights. Does anybody tried to make reverse lights flashing the terrain behind the vehicle ? Default reverse lights are only "signals" so don't give real light behind truck. Yesterday i've tried many times to modify .xml files to change this thing. I know how to modify headlights (brightness, ray, direction, offset) and rear lights (only about offset, size, etc.) but still don't know how to make reverse lights flashing real light. Can somebody help me ? I think that more people will need this for better fun ;)

That's a strange situation. I don't have lights like on yours photo. The thing that I use mods can change this ? Instead of standard Zil, I use Kraz Sibiria which don't have any reverse lights/signals but in Ural I have reverse signals. Can you copy the .xml code from your Zil in part about lights and paste it there ? Alternatively you can send me full .xml file on my e-mail: I will be very happy ;)

Its the one that comes with the game... If you have a vehicle with working reverse lights, copy the stuff from there.

Ural reverse lights:

<ReverseSignals>
	<Flare _template="ReverseSignal" Offset="(-2.76; 0.993; 0.668)" />
	<Flare _template="ReverseSignal" Offset="(-2.76; 0.993; -0.668)" />
	<Light _template="ReverseSignal" Offset="(-2.56; 0.993; 0)" />
</ReverseSignals>

The 'Light' is the bit that actually shines a light :)

Sorry for posting in an old topic, but if I create a new one I would get pointed here anyway lol. I am trying to add a single brake light to my addon.. but it isn't working. I have the templates line:

<?xml version="1.0"?>
<_templates Include="trucks"/>
<TruckAddon>

and here is what I'm using for the light:

<ModelAttachments>

<StopSignals>
        <Flare _template="StopSignal" Size="0.3" SizeAtDay="0.2" Offset="(3.2; 3.05; 0)" />
        <Light _template="StopSignal" Size="0.3" SizeAtDay="0.2" Offset="(-0; 3.19; 0)" />

</StopSignals>
    </ModelAttachments>

This is placed after </PhysicsModel> and before </TruckAddon>. I have looked over the bed on SID's truck, and as far as I can tell I am not doing anything differently. (As far as the light is concerned.) Except that I have another line after the lights that moves the exhaust origin & velocity.

Any help on this would be awesome. :)

You can look at the ural_cart.xml because it has taillights on it and might be of help to you. Sorry, I haven't done this so can't be of help to ya.

Sorry, I was wrong. The lights are on the truck and not the add-on. My bad.

Well, I'm not really sure what I did differently but I got it working. Sorry I'm always asking questions lol.. especially since as soon as I give up and ask about something I figure it out. (Or get lucky, in this case.) Makes me feel so needy... lol
